We speak “strings” at IMC
Instrumental Music sells, services and rents violins, violas and cellos. We only carry orchestra instruments that have ebony fittings and inlaid perfling. These are hallmarks of quality that help us weed out cheap violins...and they help with the longevity of the instrument.
Our commitment to Tucson is to stock student model to professional instruments of all of the instruments we carry. IMC typically stocks better 4/4 violins, 4/4 cellos, and 16” violas. We often will get larger violas or additional cellos in for customers on approval, we’d love to help you find something nice. We are authorized dealers of Yamaha Corporation, Angels Violins, Howard Core, Eastman Strings. Of course, we have a selection of used instruments as well. Since our stock changes often, please call us or visit the store for more details.

IMC stocks all the stuff that a orchestra player could need. We have lots of different kinds of wooden and fiberglass bows, rosin, shoulder rests, chinrests, mutes, etc. We carry Red Label, Prelude, Dominants, Zyex and Helicore strings...and can always order another brand if needed.

Our repairs are top-notch! We only recommend needed repairs, since it is a dis-service to the customer to replace a tenon cork on a mouthpiece if the mouthpiece is chipped (for example). Additionally, if the instrument needs more repair than originally seen, we work closely with customers to discuss which option would be best. Our goal is to give the player the best playing instrument possible.

Howard Core K61: Student model bass, we have sold many of these to school districts in AZ, Fully laminated spruce and maple veneer. Aged maple neck. Violin or gamba shape. Ebony fingerboard, nut, saddle, endpin, and good quality maple adjustable bridge with wheels. Very well constructed! Outfit includes 15mm padded cover, Pops rosin, Köhr polishing cloth, and Glasser fiberglass bow.
