How to Book Trail Dust Town [Tucson Old West Attraction]

a band on stage playing music at the Savoy Opera house in Trail Dust Town Tucson

Trail Dust Town pays homage to Tucson's old west with its iconic Main Street plaza, Savoy Opera House, saloon, magic shop, stunt shows, shooting gallery, miniature train, jailhouse, and more. If you're lucky you'll see some live music while you're there!

"Trail Dust Town has seen Tucson grow up around it since it was built in 1961. A trip down main street still feels like a journey through the streets of a pioneer town. Come escape to a bygone era during your visit to Trail Dust Town."

We asked Jessica Wills to book a show at Trail Dust Town and here's what we learned:

What is the best way to get in contact with you about booking?

You can email us at publicrelations@traildusttown.com or contact us via Facebook and Instagram.

Do you require a link to music the performer/band makes?

We don't require a link, but if you have one that is great! It's always helpful to know how the band sounds and what their vibe is like.

Do you require a media package?

We don't require any kind of media package. If we do book you, having photos and video we can use for promotional purposes is always helpful!

Should a performer/band reach out to you directly, or do you prefer managers to contact you?

We are happy to work with either. Most of the bands we work with don't have managers, and that is just fine.

What can performers/bands expect in terms of payment?

Payment has a lot of factors. The highest paid gigs we offer are for full country bands that play country music (especially 90s country covers) for 3+ hours. These bands usually have a following and can bring several hundred people out to the Savoy Opera House for a night of dancing. We also book bands for smaller events, like public events or performing in Pinnacle Peak, where the performer or band is part of the ambiance. We even get requests for busking, where the performer collects tips but is not looking for payment. We try to work with the performers so that we are both happy with compensation. That said, we always appreciate it when performers are upfront about what type of payment they expect for a performance.

How far out should performers/bands reach out about booking?

In general, we try to have events on the calendar at least 6 months out, but we have been known to book with less notice than that.

Are performers required to fill the rest of the bill?

We typically only have events with a single performer or band, so no need to fill out the bill.

Are performers directly required to sell tickets ahead of time?

We do not require this of performers. We do appreciate it when bands co-promote the performance though through their channels. If an event is successful, there is a very good chance we will repeat it and book the performer again.

Is there anything else folks should know about the process? Anything we missed?

When people think of us they usually think we only book country music, but that is not the case! For example, we've booked polka bands for Oktoberfest, a pirate band for Pirate and Mermaid Day, carolers for the holiday season, an 80s cover band for a dance, Irish bands for St. Patricks's Day, and entertainers for kid-friendly events. Don't hesitate to reach out and let us know about your band. You never know what kind of event we are dreaming up, and your band may be the perfect fit!
