Try instruments. Ask questions. Just play.

Our Instrument Petting Zoo is a simple, hands-on way to explore music without pressure, commitment, or prior experience. We bring a selection of instruments out into the community and invite people of all ages to pick them up, try them out, and see what feels right.

What Is an Instrument Petting Zoo?

It’s exactly what it sounds like.

A space where you can:

  • Try different instruments

  • Get a feel for how they work

  • Ask questions

  • Experiment freely

No lessons. No expectations. No wrong notes.

Just curiosity.

Who It’s For

This is for:

  • Kids who want to explore something new

  • Parents who aren’t sure what instrument to start with

  • Adults who’ve always been curious about music

  • Anyone who wants a low-pressure way to try playing

You don’t need experience. You don’t need to “be musical.”

You just need to be brave and try something!

Why We Do This

Getting started in music can feel like a big step.

What instrument should you choose? Will you stick with it? Is it worth the investment?

Most people never even begin because those questions get in the way.

This removes that barrier.

You get to try things first, before committing to lessons or buying an instrument.

Where to Find Us

We’ll be set up at local markets, bringing instruments directly into the community:

  • Udall Park Farmers Market — May 1st, 8am–12pm

  • Rincon Valley Farmers & Artisans Market — May 2nd, 8am–12pm

Stop by, spend a few minutes, and see what catches your interest.

Come Play

You don’t have to commit. You don’t have to be good. You don’t even have to know what you’re doing.

Just come by, pick something up, and play.

That’s how it starts.
