How to Book a Show at JoJo's in Tucson

laco tucson logo

"In 2010 Jo Schneider expanded her mission of serving the community when she started running the La Cocina Restaurant. Over the next 13 years at La Cocina, Jo turned the restaurant into a destination for thoughtful food, creative cocktails, and a venue for Tucson musicians that attracted locals and visitors alike.

As Jo transitioned to full-time grandma, her sons, Ben and Eli, started to take on more responsibility at the restaurant. While they were infusing the space with their own ideas and goals, her sons still sought a way to honor the vision Jo worked so hard to build. In 2023, La Cocina became JoJo’s, the affectionate name used by all the children in Jo’s life. Although the restaurant’s name is different, the mission remains the same. This space is a love letter to you, the people of Tucson, and the Schneider family thanks you for 40+ years of your support." - JoJo's

We asked the folks at JoJo's how to book a performance at the space and here's what they had to share with us:

"Booking here is a little out of the ordinary from other venues.

We are a restaurant first and a venue second. We don't book just any band to play because of that. The music that we look for has to be good background music, something people can talk to and enjoy a meal over.

That being said, we have musicians that rotate through our venue on a regularly scheduled basis. If people are interested in submitting music to be considered if we ever have cancellations, they can email it to us with links to their music."
